Our Parent Board
A trust board consisting of local passionate parents governs the centre. The common shared desire of giving each child the means to succeed in school and in latter life drives them to commit a few hours every month for various hui’s throughout the year as a board or with our wider whanau. Although tasked with shaping the direction of the centre, they are also a valuable source of the wider community and whanau input for they live and move within our community.
Meet our Team who together bring a combined 30 years of early childhood education teaching experience to the centre. The teaching team is led out by Shalu Lal who is always willing to support emerging leaders in staff and children. As we understand the importance in having a strong sense of belonging, we endeavor to nurture that sense by having the child’s home language being spoken in the centre and continuing to provide opportunities for staff to access professional development to meet the differing needs and aspirations of our whanau. This ensures that although English is the main language spoken in the centre, the different languages and cultures are acknowledged and respected in our program. This is one way we further enrich and enhance the children’s learning experience.
